Know Before You Go

Shingle Beach Campsite is a “rustic dry campsite”. There is no or limited cellular service, no power, no potable water, no showers, or flush toilets and no garbage removal service.

First Come First Serve Information

Our site has new dedicated RESERVED sites and new dedicated FIRST-COME FIRST-SERVED sites.

Bring cash for payment for sites and any additional purchases. Eg. Wood or Camping Fees.

Camping Fees Per Night

Single site is $18 per night, this includes 1 vehicle.
Extra vehicle $9 each night
Maximum of 6 people (including adults, children, and day guests)

Double site is $36 per night, this includes 2 vehicles.
Extra vehicles are $9 each night
Maximum of 12 people (including adults, children, and day guests)

Group Sites are $75.00 per night, this includes 5 vehicles.
Maximum of 15 people (including adults, children, and day guests)
Contact the Host via email if your group is larger than 15 people.

Host will contact you after your booking confirmation with some info and forms to fill out if needed.

  • If you exceed the person capacity for your site, you will be charged double the site fee. How ever this will allow you to double the site capacity regulations, at the host discretion and if the site has the room to accommodate. 
  • Campsites cannot be held. Erecting a tent or leaving a trailer unattended overnight is prohibited. Paying the Host for a site and then leaving is not allowed; once a camping permit is issued, you must remain at the site. It is not permissible to set up your belongings before work and return later to camp.
  • First Come First Served is exactly that – for people showing up to go camping, not showing up and then leaving right away to reserve a spot
  • If you remove your camping unit without speaking to the host, the site is considered vacated, and any remaining camping days will be void.
  • No refunds after a permit has been issued. 
  • Reserved sites may be available for 1 day mid week and up to 3 days on weekends. Longer stays require a reservation so as to not cause a conflict with the reservation system.
  • Group sites may be available for Day Use – Longer than 2 hours requires a permit.  See Host for more information. 

On-Site Policies and Information

  • Pack it in – Pack it out.  This means that you must pack out all your garbage.
  • Quiet Time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. This rule is strictly enforced and non-negotiable. Please see the site Host if your camping experience is being negatively affected by others noise. (All music and generators must be off) 
  • Be respectful of others, always keep noise and generators to a minimum.  Let the sound of nature prevail.
  • All unpaid guests (visitors) must vacate before 9:30 pm.
  • No speeding thru campsite. Maximum Speed is 10 km/hr
  • Helmets must be worn when operating or as a passenger of a bicycle or ORV.  Off road vehicles must be driven by a licensed operator and have insurance.
  • Consumption of alcohol, cannabis and cigarette smoking are permitted within your designated campsite only and prohibited in all day use and common areas, this includes the waterfront, beach areas, trails, and roadways.
  • No dumping of holding tanks is allowed in the pit toilets
  • Do not damage or cut our trees. This is including placing nails in trees and cutting or burning deadfall.  You cannot burn painted wood, treated wood, plywood, pallets or wood with nails in it.
  • Always attend your campfire. If you are not sitting beside your campfire, it must be cool to the touch. This includes when you go for a walk, go to bed and when you vacate your campsite.
  • Persons found leaving unattended campfires will be banned from our campsite
  • Do not move fire rings or picnic tables
  • Keep our campground natural.  Please do not paint on rocks, trees or picnic tables
  • Pets are allowed, they must be well behaved, not loud, under control at all times and in close proximity to their owners or their campsite.  They must be leashed at all times in the campsite. Please clean up after your pets.  Pet are permitted to be off leash on the beach 200 meters past the beach campsite # 3 and beyond. 
  • Do not discharge fireworks, firearms, bows, crossbows, bb guns, air-soft guns, pellet guns, sling shots or set traps.
  • Be Raccoon and Deer aware. Do not leave food or garbage out at your site.
  • Hunters do not install permanent meat racks in the trees or leave game entrails on the site or in the pit toilets.
  • Park in designated parking areas. 
  • Beach area is for loading and unloading Only.  
  • All vehicles on site require a camping permit.  Extra vehicles are $9 each per night.  
  • No overnight parking without a current, paid camping permit this includes all parking areas if available.  See the host for available long term parking options.
  • Firewood is available in limited quantities,  $20.00 per bin. 
  • No potable water , Bring what you require for your stay. 

Violation of any of the above rules may result in a charge and/or order to vacate under the authority of the Forest and Range Practices Act.

Discounts

Discounts of 50% off the regular camping fee are available to seniors and persons with disabilities. A person can only claim for a maximum of one type of discount. Discounts are available to those that meet the criteria below.

  • NO DISCOUNTS will be offered on Double Sites, Triple Sites, Group Sites or any Reservations.
  • Discounts are available on First Come, First Serve Regular Single Sites Only
  • 50% off available to BC Residents Seniors age 65+ and Persons with Disabilities

SENIORS DISCOUNT

Persons 65 years of age or older AND a resident of BC, can receive a senior’s discount. The discount only applies to the senior and his/her spouse. To receive the discount, please show one piece of picture ID verifying age (i.e. drivers license) to the campsite operator.

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (PWD) DISCOUNT

Persons with disabilities can receive a disability discount. You must be designated as a Person with Disabilities under the BC Employment and Assistance Program, or have a child who is eligible for the At Home Program to qualify for the reduced rate.

To receive the discount, please show one piece of picture ID (i.e. driver’s license) and one of the following to the campsite operator (please note all forms must be dated for the current year and must be an original copy not a photocopy):

  • A Release of Information form issued by the Ministry of Housing and Social Development. This form may be obtained by contacting your local Employment and Assistance Centre.
  • A letter of eligibility issued by the Ministry of Children and Family Development stating that your child is eligible for the At Home Program.
  • Must be a resident of BC
